One day at a time..............it is very much like getting off drugs or alcohol. Only you have to tell yourself that you will never be with him again, and when your head realizes that, your heart will follow slowly. One day you'll wake up and be ready to move on and meet someone knew. Don't rush it.

The honest answer is that you never "get over" the ones you love. If you loved a man and he's now out of your life forever then you will always remember him fondly because you loved him. Over time you will tend to remember only the good times you shared, and you will always have a common bond.
But you'll never forget or get over him; you'll just learn to put him in a different place in your heart.

Don't know, my dear, I never had to deal with a guy thing. I would have feel ungodly awkward to be in love with another guy.
It's a girl that I had to get over with, but it takes time. You have to just trust things in it's natural ways that things will turn out just right, and OK for yourself. Good enough, yes?

Try to do things that you really enjoy. Make it something that your good at too, so that you will get that confidence boost that you need right now. Also, it wouldn't hurt to surround yourself with other men you can flirt with. I'm not saying that you should jump into a relationship, but flirting with other people does help to get over someone faster.

i think you will never get over the guy that you love because you never stop loving a person no matter what they do, BUT you can try to set your mind on other things such as going out with your girls, having some ME time, or try dating again.

Seriously this is what I do; I picture them crossing the street; getting hit by a bus. I picture their death and their funeral (usually throwing myself on the casket). Since they are dead (in my mind) I know that we will never be together again. I can't call them repeatedly at night begging for them back because they are dead. I don't drive up and down the street in front of their house looking for them because they are dead. It may seem strange but it worked for me several times.

I agree 100% with Crockeruha and Petra P above. give it time sweetie, its going to hurt its going to be long, painful, frusterating but you will get over not having him in your life and things will fall into palce for you. Be patient with yourself and try to tell yourself that you need to let go and you need to move on and soon you won't need to tell yourself you will just want to. You just gotta wait till your brain and heart are on the same page. good luck 2u

Give yourself some time. Talk to friends. Carry on with your usual activities. You will be over him with time.
