my neighbor and i have been noticing weird stuff going on in the past two years. our pets act strangely for no apparent reason, she wakes up in the middle of the night (at the same time every night - 4 am) because she felt someone touch her, but no one is there. i know its not "ghosts" or dead relatives...but i know something is definately there...HELP!!!!!
How can we communicate with them? How do we know if something is really there or if it is just our imaginations? (also see my other question: "I think my house is haunted...or maybe i'm just crazY"...or something along those lines.) Please HELP us????

You're safer NOT contacting it. It's not a good idea to try and communicate with something that's not... 'human'. It'll be safer getting a professional psychic to do it instead. Better yet - a ghost hunting team.
However, if you want to prove something is 'there' - then all you have to do get your hands onto a camera (either digital photographic or video) - and take a few shots around the house.
If you capture anything 'weird' it'll be worth checking for logical explanations first before panicking about it. Digital cameras are excellent for capturing ghost photos as they have specialized lens and a higher shutter speed than normal disposable ones.
Night vision/Infrared Cameras are excellent to use in ghostly investigations too - as they are sensitive, and designed to work in the dark. These cameras are usually the ones that capture the truly amazing ghost footage(s) - though they can be very expensive.
Also, if you capture orbs* - which appear to be balls of light, it'll confirm some sort of paranormal activity going on. Orbs have a distinguishable movement - and appear to have a mind of their own.
*NOTE: Be careful with anazlying orbs, as sometimes dust/water droplets/ oil and hair can appear to look like orbs.

I don't understand how you could "know its not 'ghosts' or dead relatives," why wouldn't they come visit you? Your relatives loved you, and life doesn't end with death, it just changes. Speak to the spirits, tell them you're open to having a visit with them. Keep an open mind and don't discount anything. You might want to keep a record of the goings on so you don't forget any details. I wish I were there!

Talk just like you are acknowledge their presence and tell them you will only allow love and goodness into your home.Don't play games respect them, explain to them they have passed over and they should return home to heaven send them into the bright light and send them on their way.If they don't leave ask them to stop waking you up during the night.I do believe in lost souls,have seen it before a few times.Surround yourself,family also your home with it.Imagine a beautiful bright white light only love and goodness can penetrate it.They will never hurt you as long as you respect them.

I answered your other question, so here goes...your "spirit", and spirits do exist, seems harmless, since the cat allows it to pet it, otherwise the cat wouldn't act friendly (I know cats)...so just talk as if someone is present, when you feel a presence, ask questions you would a friend...they will give you signs. Worked for us.

Okay, this is so simple you may feel it won't work. Just talk to them as you would me or any live person in the same room with you. Most of the time spirits will respect your wishes if you make them known to them.

It's possible they are sensing earthquakes or a change in temperature. They seem to be more sensitive to that stuff than us. Don't fool yourself into thinking just because you can't explain it, then it suddenly becomes a Ghost Story

play the spirit game
don't feel nervous while playing.
play it with a medium size coin.
take a sheet of paper and draw a border with the coin you've taken.
both of you close your eyes and call the spirit in this way-"the spirit troubling our pets....please come"
ask it different ques and request it to leave your houses.

i do had the same problem with my old house.i use to feel someone walking round my bed,and running in the garden.but know one believed me.later i fell ill for 10 days.so my family decided to move to an other place.now i am ok.but still its just 5 days we moved.so i am still scared.
i came to know about ur question through one of my friend,he called me an said about this question.so i feel someone is agreeing with me.

well in the bible it specifically states to not contact spirits or ghosts... but it seems like they are contacting you (in a disturbing way), if they are harmless, ask them to not bug you (nicely), if you think they may be harmeful, do not bother them.
my apartment was haunted (many strange things happened, parents, brothers, and cousins all found sumthing strange in that apartment)
