Clamp revealed it....... She died because of sickness... That's why Nadeshiko's cousin is so mad at Fujitaka becuase of taking Nadebhiko away from them (that's the way she feels)... and at age 27 she died..

Nadeshiko was always a fragile and weak woman, the opposite of her daughter Sakura.
Nadeshiko died when Sakura was 3 years old.

It was never revealed just how she died. All we know is that she died at Age 27

it was not shown in the anime i think becaues is weak or something etc
