It's a 96 grand am se 2dr. I just need to paint over a previous poorly done paint job. I'm hoping for about $150 or less. Is it possible?

At a quality shop the break down goes like this---$250 to paint, scuff, and mask. $125 for a quart of matched paint, $50 for Clear coat. $50 to detail and clean up. So its right about $475-500 with tax and EPA fees. To match a 10 year old paint job. You could get a good quality job to paint the car for $1000-$1200. ( yes, you can get it done cheaper) Best to save your money for the better paint job. A cheap paint job is like throwing your money away--doesn't help the value at all.

Don't be a cheapo. I can't stand people who want everything to be perfect for nothing. A good paint job on the hood will probably cost 300 bucks.

i own a repair shop and no one will paint over something that looks bad, they will sand it back off to about bare metal, and re-do it,and it will cost you around 250-300 bucks to get it done right by a good body shop, not a cheap place but a good body and paint man, good luck,i hope this help,s.

The hood? You would have to paint the whole car over? You will need atleast 250 for quality. I would go to Maaco

It sounds like you already got a cheap job done on it and are going for another.
