hilary duff eye makeup: not looking gothic?

Question

how do i get my eye makeup to look like hilary duff's?

here's my problems.

1. i have fair skin
2. i have naturally dark brown (almost black) hair
3. i used to be "gothic" so people might think i'm going back to that if it's too dark

so how would i go about doing this?

1. i didn't say she was gothic, i said i wanted to know how i could make it look like >>I<< >>ME<< didn't look gothic

2. i don't want to copy from her, i want something inspired by her look.

it doesn't matter what your skin/hair colour is, think alicia keys/rihanna or any of those dark skinned/haired/eyed RnB stars pulling of the smoky look like total sirens!

firstly, ensure that your overall makeup is even and warm looking DO NOT use too light foundation which might give you a "pancake face" ala amy lee. Your foundation has to suit your skin tone specifically, not too light, just nice. Add abit of bronzing power since you're fair, or use a peachy pink light blusher at the apple of your cheeks. Use a nude/light pink lipstick/lipgloss for your lips. This will take off the "goth edge" and give you the whole feminine look.

Now we can glam up your eyes. With steady hands, draw your eyes CLOSELY to the lashlines using either a newly sharpened eyeliner pencil or liquid eyeliner (practice makes perfect so keep trying till you work the lines right with steadier hands!)Add nude /warm earth toned(play with shades of brown that compliments your skin and bring your out natural eyecolor) eyeshadow over your eyelids and blend it with another slightly darker tone closer to your eyes. Add shimmer powder for contrast and make sure its blended carefully. Don't forget the masacara and to curl your lashes for the finishing touches.

first of all, don't go giving a crap what people think you are! do what you want... if you don't want to look goth, wear some blush.

you could also try using brown tones instead, or very deep purple, which is flattering on brunettes, and won't wash out your fair complexion.

Eww...why on earth do you want to look like Hilary.
Anyway...she does dark colours...she does the whole smokey eye thing, I usually see her in magazines with black eyeshadow and eyeliner. You won't look goth if you do it right, blend it in, and try to make it not too strong looking.
Don't wear goth clothes.
Dark make up doesnt make you "goth" ... that's so grade 2.
Goth people have piercings and wear fishnets and dark clothes...I know because I used to be one. A real one.
