I'm ashamed in myself, I'm 6'4" and I can't even dunk, does anyone have any tips to jump higher, my brother can even slam dunk and he's 2 inches shorter! there's even a person on my basketball team that's 5'7" that can dunk.

Get yourself a trampoline. If you start jumping around on one of those, you'll be sure to get a higher jump. I grew up jumping around on a trampoline and I have a pretty nice jumping distance.

Damn...people are really mean to someone who can't dunk. I know how you feel, I'm 6'2" and can't dunk either. I'm not embarrassed, I've just never worked on it. What you need is just to build up more muscle in your legs. Work out regularly, run, keep your muscles lean. Make sure you practice the best leaping techniques like jumping off of the correct foot and bending your knees the right amount. Don't worry about dribbling at first, either. Just try without a ball, then just carrying the ball, and eventually you'll be able to dunk off the dribble. And most importantly: ignore all these haters telling you to quit. Chill out people. There's alot more important things than stuffing a leather sphere into a hoop. It's just fun.

Only embarassing if you tried during a game and ended on your butt. Dunking don't matter. Practise your 3's instead. Teams always need 3pt shooters, they never look for players who can dunk

Look, do not tell anyone you can't dunk. Just say you broke your wrist doing it once and you will never do it again because you are scared. All you need is a 34" vertical and you can't reach that!

Dont feel bad. I have a friend who is 6'8, and he can barely dunk (sometimes he gets it, usually with a mini ball). But then again he's also white, and kind of fat so that might be another reason.

You just need to work on your jump muscles. Just because you're tall doesn't mean you can dunk. You need to condition your jump muscles. There are jumping excercises that you can do to build them up.

I'm the same height and I can't dunk... but, I also don't like basketball or any other sport for that matter, save for women's beach volleyball. But, that's just me.

Just try to jump ropes every day. Plus, you need to weight train so that your whole body is okay with the change.
