If you really want to know, go ask one of thses "so called posers" why they dress the way they do. You are a CLEAR example of how a persons environment influences how they behave, so you should know. If a person grew up around preps or emos that's what they will become regardless of their race. They are just being themselves and gravitating towards what makes them happy. You should do the same and not be so judgemental of others choices, you limit youself in the friend/networking/wisdom departments.

Well skate boarding is just coming back strong as far as everyone owning a skateboard. If you were born between 1976-1982, I am almost for certain, no matter what race you and all your friends owned a skateboard, so yes to answer your question, races can mix and mingle with the culture thing

Why do you feel the need to put everyone neatly into one 'box' or another? Is it really necessary for you to stereotype people because of their culture of heritage?
What really is a poser? I remember saying this word when I was a teenager but the older I get the more I realize that people are people, and it isn't your place to to try to stuff them into a box because they wear certain clothes, listen to certain music or choose to participate in a particular sport.

Why not? You see white kids trying to act ghetto all the time. What's the difference?
Personally, my thinking is you only live once, be what you want to be, especially who you are, and who cares what others think. Hell, I'm 40, and I surely am not your typical 40 year old woman.

I'm Asian and I'm not hurting anyone with the way I dress. If i like to dress as emo or rocker, I do it because I like it, not because I want to act white.

"if you do i feel it is kind of like being a poser." Are u serious? Labels don't mean anything. People wear what they want. It's just clothes.

Should whites be allowed to do karate because they don't look like Bruce Lee? Should whites be allowed to rap because they can't flow like Slick Rick? see, pretty dumb aint it. Quit worrying about what other people are doing and go try to be friends with them, then you might realize they are not any different.

People should be allowed to dress and express themselves however they are most comfortable as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. Preppy/skater/emo/sceen kid/redneck/punk...none of it has a racial basis.

Racist people are cowards who hide behind a veil of hatred to cope with their own insecurities and failures. Their hatred allows them to distract themselves from the reality of their existence:that they are capable of being just as impoverished, ignorant, filthy, and immoral as any other human being could be.
