That depends where in Tennessee...although it gets really sticky humid and hot in the summer months which brings out oversize mosquitoes big enough to carry you off, and then those freaking jiggers, what ever you do, NEVER SIT OR LAID DOWN ON ANY LAWN ANY PLACE in the SUMMER or those mean little jiggers(teeny weeny insects that burrows under the skin) will surely find you, other than that if it any of the cities, then the cities are just like any other cities, over crowed, polluted, robberies, etc. But out in the country side it is peaceful and quiet unless you find a small town that don't like you, then you are up a raging river without a paddle.

Tennessee is an absolutely lovely place to be. "God's Country " guaranteed. People are more laid back and friendly (and a little inbred up in them thar hills). It's beautiful and green. The humidity in the summer keeps your skin from drying out and we have to dodge a few tornadoes every year . But other than that it's a great place. Cost of living is low and jobs are pretty easy to find.

No sheep though....you gotta go to Arkansas for that!!!

From another reader.....
"Bugs, Humidity, Poor roads, poor school system, heat in the summer and cold in the winter, redneck attitudes, racism, alcoholism and unemployment. Other than that, it's a peach."

Yes we love our bugs and our humidity, We have excellent roads and a very large road construction budget. I really have to warn you against stereotypes. There are "rednecks", alcoholics and racism, in every state. I would hate for you to base your opinion of this lovely place on the words of some apparently maladjusted, unhappy person. Unemployment is not a problem, however pay rates are below the average, but hey so is the cost of living. You can't have both. Things are just cheaper here.

As many have already said the humidity in the summer can be aweful, but it is still a great place to live.

And I don't even know a single sheep farmer. :-)

The climate is miserable in the summer, and unless you are in a large metropolitan area, finding good work may be difficult. But housing is cheap.
