We have just signed Nate Clements (a bit overpaid though) and safety michael Lewis. Both will be immediate starters and make a huge impact. Now if only we can beat out the patriots for Adalius Thomas, draft or sign an impact DT and WR and Super Bowl here we come

I am Loven It!!!! Even if we over paid (WAY OVER PAID) for Clements, now we have 2 Pro Bowl Corners, and Spencer locked up until 2012 as a 3rd corner. We also added some pop in the secondary with M. Lewis. Also they added Franklin the reserve NT from the Ravens (6-1, 320) he should help. They need to sign at least 2 WRs now that A. Bryant is gone. Looks as if A. Thomas is gone to NE. Now it's all about J. Porter.

One last thing, if they don't get a Vet RT and bench that worthless piece of **** Kwame Harris, forget about super bowl

The Buffalo Bill are a cover 2 team. This only happened when they brought in Dick Jauron. They used to play man to man. At that time Clement's was clearly an elite NFL defensive back. His stats are up and down, but prior to Jauron's tenure with the Bills his number were clearly better. The 2 years prior to his tenure he had 9 INT's, .5 sacks and 2 defensive touchdowns. While he only had 135 tackles in this scheme compared to that of 5 INT's, 1 touchdown, and 169 tackles. He clearly favored man to man. Which the 49er's are. Not to mention at 6'0" 209 lbs with a 4.45 40 and his instincts he will truly be a great fit with the 49er's.

Pumped about 1 player, Im a browns fan and they just gave Steinbach-steve hutchesin money. Although I think that is a good pick up thats to much money for someone that has not played for YOU yet. Same with Nate, what if he turns into Fred Smoot and goes down hill. NIners better get a qb in there grasp, cuz alex does not look good. Even with a top rusher Gore "which I predicted before preseason would be grood" Alex could not throw the ball, they just let Bryant go so im thinking they are draftin or signing Drew bennet who will not do good there. Any team is just a couple players or positions away from a superbowl but niners are about 5-10 motivated players away. Sorry.

I WAS a 49ers fan, but once i saw how bad they were i became a Patriots fan because at least New England has been in at least one superbowl the last few years. When's the last time that the 49ers were in the superbowl?

Off-topic...every top guard is going to get Hutchinson money. That's the whole cluster **** effect the Vikings unleashed on the NFL. I'm betting Nate's the same way. A bit overpaid is a bit of an understatement I think...

Optimisn is good, but I don't think youshould get carried away and start thinking about the Super Bowl quite yet. I think the progress of Alex Smith will determine how far the 49ers can go and if they can make it into the playoffs.

optism is good but the niners won't get to the super bowl this year maybe next year they need more time to improve plus like you said they need a LB, DT, and a WR.

S.F. may be lucky to even be in the NFL let alone know how to spell Super Bowl. They have to get past the colleges of USC, UCLA or even San Diego State before they are eligible to erase he embarrassment of last year Or, will they merge with the Raiders and Lakers so there aren't three loser pro sports teams in California. If, if if. "If" crickets had machine guns, the blackbirds wouldn't mess with them now would they.....?
