I recently replaced one of my injectors. I was told on this site that there was a recall and the old injector O rings were yellow. Mine still had the yellow O rings in it. I brought it to a dealer and he told me that the injector recall had allready been done by another dealer. I do not think it was done or that dealer said he did the work but did not actually do it. Does anyone know what if anything I can do about this? I do not want my car catching fire especially with my sons in it!!!!!! I got the print out from my local dealer stating the work was done and by whom and when it was done. Dan

Daniel,

If the dealer gave you a printout with your vehicle's VIN on it, stating that the recall repairs were complied with, than you can only come to the conclusion that they were done. I don't know that you'll have any way to challenge it.

Car companies must keep on record what recalls were made in compliance by vehicle VIN. If somewhere along the line, something relating to the recall fails, you'll be able to sue the manufacturer...it's cheaper in the long run for them to just comply.

I assume youre talking about recall #790 for LH bodies with a 3.5L It has been several years since I have performed this recall but I do recall the new o-rings being blue or black every o-ring in the fuel rail was supposed to be replaced with a reinforced patch being applied to the right fuel rail between injectors #3 and #5 if the patch was put on you can see it by looking through the plenum if the right rail was replaced for it having a crack I dont recall if it came with the reinforcement patch on it I just looked at the recall and it does not state to install the reinforcement on the new rail it is possible the a aftermarket shop replaced an injector not knowing about the recall but most have access to recalls hope this helps ask your dealer to see a copy of the recall

If the work has been done by another dealership and your not sure, they can pull up all the information that has been done to your vehicle with the Vin Number thought the Chrysler Corp. Manufacture

If you have the old injector O rings done by an outside source, you still have the right to get your injector O rings replace, You can also call or send them an email through there site:

Bring to another dodge dealer and tell them what happened. They will take a look. Chrysler pays for recalls...so it's in their best interest to do them. I would find out from the dealer who did it....if that is what is listed then I would imagine it would be done....they are not going to risk a law suit that would shut down a multimillion dollar business (ok not quite that much being a chrysler dealer...sorry had to take that shot) over one recall.

as a service manager at a chrysler dodge jeep facility, the standard policy with daimler is "once a recall, ALWAYS a recall" just because the recall was performed previously, you are entitled to the repair when needed at no charge so long as the recall in question applied to your vehicle. call chrysler customer care - they can assist you
