WASHINGTON - Two months after Democrats took control of Congress, there isn't much to show for the switch in power — despite feverish efforts to weigh in on meaty matters, such as the war in Iraq.

A Vermont park has a new name, a new board oversees the now-infamous House page program and a glitch has been fixed in minting $1 silver coins honoring Thomas Edison.

Democrats also have gotten enacted into law modest boosts in veterans' benefits, health research and college loans, perhaps their biggest achievement during their time in power. That accomplishment came on a nearly half-trillion-dollar spending bill that Republicans left uncompleted last fall, when voters decided they wanted a different party than the president's running Congress.

The dems are on a roll to do a lot of non-important things. Neither party has the guts to address the border. illegal immigration, social security, counterintelligence or military manpower requirements to meet the challenges of terror both at home and abroard. They are either incompetent, clueless or both. They are another give-away congress. Free education, even for illegal aliens, anything to get them re-elected. To hell with the National Security? Bureaucrats (burger) and congressmen (w. Jefferson) commit felonies and go unpunished
so what is a loyal citizen to think? They don't police themselves!

Yeah. Not quite two months. The last Congress did nothing for two years.

What's your point? That in less than two months, they've accomplished what it took the Republicans two years to do?

Left or right.modern politics is a game for these people. They bluster and blow, but in the end, they'll cover one another's a**es.When Jefferson got caught with $90,000 bucks in his freezer,Hastert came out swinging, huffing and puffing nonsense about the FBI violating the separation of powers. It was the Congressional old boys at their finest.

You and I can b*tch and moan about your side and my side all we want, but at the end of the day we're just wasting space here.

These people don't care about us.They've got us so divided, they can do about anything they want, because we're all too busy bashing each over the head to really pay attention.

I've been on here less than a month, and I've spent too much time on here(it's winter and I work outdoors,so I got time),but I've come to the realization that the majority of us are just bashing each other for the sake of bashing.I'm guilty as sin myself.

This could really be a forum for change,if we could only stop yelling and start talking.

Sorry about the rant.Just try to think about what I've pecked out here.

Takes more than two months to make up for all those years...At least issues may come to the floor, agenda is no longer dictated from the white house. Whenever one party runs everything, they let the power get to them and they ruin it. When I was young it was the dems, this time it was the repubs. Same thing. But from these answers, the question was meant to elicit democrat bashing so you won't like this answer.

What you call the nationwide Debt is rather the as instantly as a 12 months funds DEFICIT. The debt is the completed of each and each of the as instantly as a 12 months deficits. It develop into as instantly as $8-9 trillion in 2007 and it rather isn't $14+ trillion - 50% more suitable than what it took more suitable positive than 225 years to obtain.

I know many people won't agree with me on this, but...

Both parties have good points and bad points. Same thing with people. I'm firmly set in my party, though more to the moderate side, and I believe that there should always be an off-set between Congress & the Presidency. If there is a Republican President, I want a Democratic Congress, and vice versa. Sure, things move slower, but it certainly curtails the blatant "your party did this" finger pointing that goes on all the time.

Eh, not impressed. That first hundred hours thing didn't exactly work out, especially when they started it with a nice big day off for some football game. I'd really like to see both sides take up the cause of us CITIZENS and do something about all these illegals who commit violent crimes and identity thefts in exchange for which they consume a disproportionate share of public aid.

They are pushing this country into socialism and eventuall communism if we let them. They are wicked and unholy to the most extreme. They rape the constitution and could care less about our freedom. Wake up America before it is too late. It is time to let your voice be heard. Shut the boarders, stop the socialism that is universal health care. The democrats are out of touch with reality. They Play on our Fears. Stand up Americans, lets take back this country.

Immediately after the election, Pelosi dropped to her knees and pleasured Bush in a way that Clinton could only dream of. With Bush trembling and shaking at the knees, Pelosi looked up longingly, smiled and said the magic words that puts any criminal president in a state of ecstasy. She said, "Impeachment is off the table."
