I'm almost eighteen years old and I've been on birth control for eleven months.but me and my boyfriend haven't had sex in the last month. i kind of messed up with my birth control and missed days and took it a day later so i was wondering if that could have an effect? also i have an unusual period and it only lasts like 2 days, at the most! it's always been like that. I'm not even worried about being pregnant but does anyone know what it could be? (besides weight gain/loss or stress)

Children often have irregular periods, so that would be the answer but then you are taking hormones and everytime you miss and make up a day, you are taking the risk of being bred by the little boy. I would suggest that you get some books on parenting since you are headed there alone( and poor). Make sure your parents are not going to throw you out when it happens and see about finding a garage or trailer to live in. Mice and roaches are easily killed to make these sorts of places habitable. Good luck setting up your future for failure. When you grow up, you will be sorry you let someone use you.

Have you started any new meds? Diet? Lifestyle changes?

Any of these along with stress and possible your birth control pills can contribute to your period being shorter than the normal 7 days or completely missed altogether.

And it's normal to miss a period every so often.

It has happened to me before. Sometimes if you are under a lot of stress, have changed sleep habits, or if you have started working out more strenuously, it can change your menstrual cycle. Some women go for whole months without having a period. I would try not to worry too much about it because you stressing out about it could actually postpone it even more.

I was on birth control when I got pregnant with my daughter. I was three months pregnant when I found out. Another friend of mine had her periods till her fifth month of pregnancy. In fact there are ALOT of women that have at least two periods while they are pregnant. I'd take an EPT or something.
