Your HS classes don't count towards the requirement to be a pediatrician. You have to go to college, major in a science related area, go to med school, and specialize in pediatrics. You may want to take a lot of science classes in HS to prepare you for college, though.

My recommendation for you is to find the college or university that you want to go to (when you get to that point) and start planning to go there, and talk to them. Talk to their teachers in the pediatric program, and talk to their councellors about your question. They can tell you how to get ready while still in HS.

Better yet, talk to teachers and counsellors from your top two choices for college if you can. Try to get ahold of Pediatricians and hospital administrators (which is not as hard as one might think), and they can help steer you to the right direction.

And ask all of the above (while you're asking questions anyway) about extra curricular activities that might help. You would be surprised how some can help immensely!

The Lord guide and bless your search, friend! May you achieve your dreams.

You'll want your sciences, so biology, physics, chemistry and maths. These will be prerequisites for your first year college courses.
