Sherron had a great article in The Kansas City Star on 03/02/2007. He is also a great player.

Julian Wright. Sherron Collins is an oustanding player, but has been very quiet in their last two games. The games against OU and Texas were big games for the Jayhawks, as far as how good of a team they really are. Julian has stepped up and played good in both the games, and Sherron Collins didn't score in either game, or come up with any big plays. Luckily, Sherron is only a freshman and will be a great player for the KU organization next year. This year, however, the best player is Julian Wright.

Julian Wright is probably the best all around player on the squad. Rush is a great shooter and like all shooters he is streaky, he is also a great defender, but he is not terribly good at penetrating the lane. Sherron need to work on his deffense as well as sharing the rock upon driving the lane. Wright is a force in the paint and as a mid range shooter, he loves to drive the ball for easy baskets and to open up the passing lanes for his other big men. His deffense is some of the best in the Big 12, obviously if they ask him to gaurd Durant, Self has confidence in him as well.

It totally depends on position. If you're referring to Guard, then it's a tough battle between Brandon Rush and Mario Chalmers. These guys have matured greatly through these past two years. Brandon Rush leads in scoring while Mario Chalmers leads in defense.

If you're referring to Foward/Center, it would come down to Darrell Arthur or Julian Wright. Darrell has such a sweet jay and he's only a freshman! Julian can pass, jam, shake 'n' bake, and shoot the ball amazingly well for his height.

Out of the freshman, it would come down to Sherron or Darrell. Sherron's proved himself by averaging 10 pts. a game and becoming a Jayhawk starter. I give him a lot of credit. Darrell plays like he could be a Junior. I'm eager to see them play in the future. Overall, the best players on the team would have to be Julian Wright or Mario Chalmers.
