Could you possibly mean Australia?
Like the Americas...we might say "discovered" but there were people living there so that's not the best way to describe it. What we're really talking about is European exploration and linking to the global age and trade networks. Austria is a part of Europe and "discovery" would not really apply - its borders have changed some..but it was a part of the "known" world in European history.

Wiki says: 1606, by the Dutch navigator Willem Janszoon

Probably some Roman or Greek "discovered" Austria in the sense of being the first to write about it. There were people living there before that of course.

If you mean who discovered Australia, then it was Jansz in 1606.

The Austrians - and some milliseconds later American tourists who had been watching too much "Sound of Music".
Similarly with Australia - discovered by Aborigines coming down via Indonesia ca. 60,000-50,000 years ago - and after the Poms who didn't give a rat's behind whether the countries they "discovered" were inhabited long before, American tourists who had been watching too much Steve Irwin.

Not to forget: some milliseconds later: more American tourists who had been watching too much "Sound of Music" and whose knowledge of world geography was limited enough to mix up Austria and Australia...

The concept of "who discovered" is a tough one, because in fact when we say that, it normally means "who was the first European there?"

People have existed in anywhere inhabitable for all of recorded history. We just may not have known them and they may not have left records behind.
