Try different setting you wouldn't usually try, a book club, wine tasting, adult education classes, meetup.com, volunteering opportunities to meet other singles (volunteermatch.org and volunteer solutions.org).

It always helps to mix things up a bit!

Join clubs, b outgoing (or at least fake it, it is more fun to b talkative then quiet), have interesting looking clothes that catch people's attention like a cool looking hand bag or watevr. Believe in urself (yes cheesy but true it will make u more confident)... besides that not sure.

join sports or activities.. clubs.. go out and spoil urself.. go hang out and do daring stuff that u would never do to improve ur low self esteem and ur social life

What about joining a church, synagouge? People tend to be friendly there.
