Our dreams consist of all the things our mind cannot hanlde during the day. But, the difference is that during the day our thoughts are clear and basic. To-the-point and direct. They get the idea or problem across and then work on it constantly. But with dreams, since your subconcious has more control, contort the ideas and or problems in a peculiar way using colors, shapes, people, animals, astronomy and other information.

In our dreams things are harder to interpert because our brain is problem solving without us. We are sleeping while our mind is hard at work. You see, thinking keeps the gears moving in our mind and that would keep us up all night with a restless mind. At night our mind disguises the thoughts as abnormalities or parodized realities called dreams so that the gears may continue to grind silently allowing us our rest.

So in the grand scheme of things our dreams mean our mind never stops working no matter what. It simply lets our bodies rest while it continues on.

Now, the idea that some dreams come true after they occur is indeed very strange. It can be described as a severe deja vu. In some theories we have all lived this life before and will continue to live it for all of eternity and all of time. This theory provides the idea that information from a previous occurance of our own life can be transfered into our dreams as a warning for when we awake. When this information is transfered during the daytime we call is psychic visions.

Some people will tell you those statements are silly and illogical. But with the right amount of optimism, it can make sense to anyone really.

Generally, your dreams reflect desires, unresolved conflicts or "repressed" emotions that are stored in our sub-conscious mind. This belief is predominant in the psychoanalytic theories (ie Freud, Jung, Horney) and is still valid to this day. Other theorist could vary slightly but agree on the central theme.

Dreams are just fragments of
our conscious mind.
They might recall past events
in the form of scraps.
They don't predict the future.
