Apologizing/Explaining?

I kind of want to apologize to a friend and explain my problems. Its not really neccessary, I didnt do anything specifically, just kind of want to thank her for being so nice to her and apologize for not always returning the favor because I was depressed and shy. Because in a few months I probably won't see her nearly as much.

I feel like this could be my last chance to make a good impression.

Whats like a good few opening lines, a good way to start it, you know?

Just be yourself. You can never plan what your going to say because no matter what you cant predict the situation or the outcome. Just speak from your heart.
