If you have been doing ballet since you were a little kid you ususally get your pointe shoes and age 11. If not then you usually get pointe shoes after two years of balle. You have to have really strong foot muscles and ankles (especially ankles) and it takes alot of dedication. If you have no experience its really dangerous to try to do pointe b/c you could get seriously hurt!! I would start ballet lessons and then your teacher will decide when youre ready. If you want to just stand in them then you probably wont need that much experience and standing in really high heels is nothing like pointe shoes. :) hoped this helped

It depends on your age and ankle strength... Walking in The Highest heel is not the same as enpointe... even with heels your foot is balanced at 2 points... enpointe there is only one...so footarch and ankle have to be developed enough to support torso and movement....
