Did you have your computer plugged directly to the comcast modem before? if so, all you have to do is turn it off, leave it off for about 15 minutes, then turn it back on with the wireless router plugged in.

your cable is connected to a cable modem, the cable modem is connected to the wireless router using the WAN port on the back of the router, this port is seperated from the others. If you are connected to the wrong port, then the router will not see the outside address.

You forgot one thing.

The WEP or WPA code!

Look on the wireless router for a WEP or WPA code. I don't know what Linksys are you refering to but the most common wireless Linksys router is blue and black color with the attenae attached to it.

When you get the WEP or WPA, you need it to access the wireless router for the internet.
