woops typo.. what i mean is if someones answer isnt even expressing an opinion, do you give them a thumbs down anyway just because they are someone you disagree with all the time.

Well as we can see so far its divided but some people give people a thumbs down to any answer. Pretty much the thumbs down is at the person and not the answer.

No, I only give thumbs down to answers I strongly disagree with, and then not all the time. Occasionally, someone I usually disagree with will say something that really impresses me in a positive way, and I then give them a thumbs up. And, I always compliment answers that I think are exceptional.!!!!!

No, I only do that if the statement that person makes goes against my beliefs. I have given thumbs up to people that I usually disagree with when I agree with their post. I get many thumbs down on non controversial answers but it doesn't bother me.

No, I only give thumbs up/down to answers I agree/disagree with..... The thing is I usually disagree with everything certain people say (especially the conspiracy theory people).

I'd give a thumbs down if I strongly disagreed with the specific answer.
On the other hand, I do not report people just because I disagree with them.

I have only given a thumbs down twice and both was due to extreme profanity or racial slurs.
I believe everyone has a right to their opinion and it doesn't hurt me to read it - even if I disagree.
I always figure if you open yourself up to new ideas, new ways of thinking, new ways of seeing a situation, ya just might learn something.

I very much doubt that most people go through the process of giving a thumbs down to answers that they do in fact agree with.

No, not just because I disagree with their opinion -- anyone has a right to have a different opinion than me. Now if they make a real jerk out of themselves in doing so, that's another matter.

A thumb down is better than a finger up, isn't it?
