Gallaudet University (Washington DC) is a college that is specifically set up for the deaf-but has the disadvantage that they rely on American Sign Language (ASL)--which some young people are still denied the opportunity to learn.
Ohterwise, there are really no problems with deaf students atttending any university-and most universities now have at least a few deaf/hearing impaired students. the only caveat here is that a few still have a negative attitude toward students iwhth disabilities--but these are now a tiny minority. Almost all colleges and universities in the United States provide adequate services--ad the ones who don't have to do so (by law) if tey are challenged.
And, sorry, but 'queenrakle" is correct only to the extent that a non-signing deaf person would have to think seriously about Gallaudet. Otherwwise, she's flat wrong. All students with disabilities are netitled to reasonable accomodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act--and it is a violation of federal law not to accept an otherwised qualified student because they happen to have a disability.

If you are anywhere near SoCal, Cal State at Northridge has a very well-developed Deaf Education Department. They teach deaf educators, as well as assisting the deaf student in any subject they wish to pursue. They have accepted many students from the local Schools of the Deaf which are signing schools, and also from The John Tracy Clinic in LA, which is oral. So there's a good mix of communication methods offered. However, I've found going thru the Deaf program at Northridge myself, that the faculty has a tendency to copy Galludet all-or-nothing signing position for its deaf students.

Lamar University has one of the best in the nation! Now it's not Gallaudet but we do get many grad students transferring over after they finish their BA/BS from there. WE have the first ASL BA degree in TX. our Grad school- Deaf Education- is a BI-Bi (bilingual Bi cultural) program and we have great faculty including Jane Andrews who's at the fore front for Bi-Bi across the nations. There is a great lil deaf community here and a deaf church that many people attend.
GO Cardinals!!

Please note that Gaulledet University has a graduation rate of less than 50%, and is known for their refusal to accept people who don't conform to their standards. This is also a signing college, and not all deaf people sign. In order to answer this question, more information is needed. It depends on the mode of communication for this person, the specific modifications they would need, and the willingness of the college to provide those modifications.
EDIT: Please note that NOWHERE in my post is there a comment saying Galludet refuses to accept students with disabilities. "refusing to conform to thier standards" does not mean they refuse to accept students with disabilities. They are in danger of losing their accredidation because of their low graduation rate and refusing to be flexible in their standards. The students got the president to be fired, mainly because although she was a fluent signer, she hadn't been an 'original' fluent signer (she wore hearing aids growing up instead of learning sign right away). Read the news. Read the studies. It's there.

This is the college that many of my deaf students attend. They focus on persons with hearing impairments and are completely accessible. Check out their website. I think you will be impressed.
