If you have not had vocational counseling, you may want to start there - they might be of help in matching you with a job you can do.

People who are quadriplegic, who are in sip-and-puff wheelchairs (where you move the chair by blowing into a straw) can hold down jobs. So, go get one too! (the job, silly, not the chair!)

If you are still having a lot of pain, you might want to check out the book "Explain Pain" by David Butler - He is a physical therapist from Austrailia, and he does a good job of explaining how the nervous system responds to pain. It may be helpful.

Good luck!

It depends upon whether or not you feel well enough to go back to work and the type of physical work that you would be doing. Actually you could try work and then if you could not perform physically because of medical problems, then you may want to think of disability.
