Hi. I am going to be painting my room. I like the colors blue, green, and sea green. If you had to pick one for your room, which of these 3 would it be? If you can try to explain your answer. Thanks! I appreciate all the help I receive!

I have blue curtains, tan floor, cherry bed, a regular looking desk, and well, a lot of cherry colored stuff.

I like boyish colors, even though I'm a girl. No pink or any color like that.

Well, since my birthday is in March the color for March is Aquamarine, or sea green. So I guess sea green. My birthday is St.Patrick's day so that would be a great color. Thanks for asking.

Probably a soft blue. When I worked at an attorney office, one of the attorney's whole office was done in blues. I asked about it one day and was told that blues have a calming effect and help reduce stress. However I painted two of the rooms in our house a greyish blue ceiling and top of walls, with the bottom half a soft green, almost a lime and it's nice/pleasing to look at. It feels more homely or comfortable. I think softer colors work better than bolder ones.

Use all three.
There is a technique called color washing. You paint all the walls one color and let it dry.
Then you cut the next color with water (4 parts water to 1 part paint). Using two brushes, and lots of rags or paper towels, get a little paint on the dry brush, and lightly put the paint on the walls. Use the other clean brush to move it around. Wipe off the second brush, and keep doing this. Go easy, you aren't trying to paint the wall, just get a little more color in it.
When it dries, repeat with the next color.
I did this with three shades of blue, starting with light on the walls, and going to a mid tone gray blue, and then a dark gray blue. It took awhile, but my room looks like you're standing in the middle of storm clouds.
I added in a couple of links, but they all want you to use glaze. You create your own "glaze" when you dilute the paint with water (I'm assuming you're using a water-based paint for this, by the way). It works just fine without the glazing compound, and it's lots cheaper.

I have sea green as my room color and I love it because the color makes the room bigger and if you feel like your room is small then its a good idea to use sea green.I like the sea green color best because green and blue are to bright for me and sea green is a light color =]

You could probably integrate all them colors. Try painting one wall green, another wall blue, and another wall sea green. For the last wall, choose one of these colors and sponge paint with the other two colors.

I believe sea green would be the best choice. I think this because it is a pretty mix of the colors, and provides a calming effect, wether people realize it or not. Yo tend to feel more relaxed, which can lower stress levels elsewhere.

yeah i wanted to paint my room color too!! but my older brother said that he doesnt have time, he said maybe in the summer. for my room, i owuld pick something bluish. or maybe a light color. because if its too dark, then it will have this office look, or a mature look. but im 20. i need something mature. and for you, i would pick sea green. because the color is not ordinary, green and blue is so common, if you pick sea green, it might stand out, because its an interesting color, and name too.

I would pick blue. There are more colors that look good with blue. So, if sometime in the future you wanted to change your bedding and other accents for a new look, it would be easier.

Sea Green, I just like the calming effect it has. Also, you can use blue or green shades with it.
