I was a nanny for two jewish american families for 10 years. One family ate healthy no junk food no sugar. The other ate like lot of us, fast food and stuff. They both had the typical Friday night family dinner with all jewish foods, neither family ever ate pork though, no ham, no bacon no sausage. Other than that I saw not much difference. Bagels were eaten all day long though.

just because we are Jewish, providing we are not religious and kosher, we eat the same things that you eat. We aren't any different than anyone else out there. ok, maybe we eat more bagels and lox (smoked salmon) for a Sunday brunch, and add in a bunch of smoked fishes as a special kind of day, but normally breakfast is whatever anyone else would eat, eggs, cereal, pancakes, and yes, bacon or sausage. lunch, whatever, nothing special, and the same with dinner. It's only for our holidays that we eat some strange foods.
Of course we go to kfC, we have the same bad eating habits as everyone else and many love mexican restaurants. Nothing different about us, just that we have a different religion. Now if you are talking about religious Jews who are Kosher, it's a whole other ballgame. No pork, no milk with meat, only foods that are marked with the sign saying they are kosher, no shellfish, and they would never eat at KFC or any other restaurant that was not strictly Kosher, but I'm sure they have kosher Mexican Restaurants, they do have kosher chinese restaurants. But most Jewish people are not religious, so you won't be able to tell us from anyone else you see.

How a Jewish family eats depends on if they are Kosher or not.
Areas that have to watched in a Kosher kitchen are how the food is prepared, what type of facility, how the products are cleaned etc.
As far as meat goes there is strict requirements on preparation, and how the food is slaughtered.
Some Jewish households are just like any other household, and eat however they chose.
There are certain well known delicacies that have originated in Jewish kitchens , that have become staples in many homes worldwide.
Bagels are just one of those items.
Matzah , which is a meal is often used to form a doughy ball and added to chicken soup.
Chopped liver goes well on bagel chips and is another Jewsih deli main stay.
I am a big fan of Rugalah, a small rolled pastry , often filled with jam or nuts of some sort.
Check out your local Jewish deli or if you are curious read some of the labels on the Kosher items in your grocery store.

Depends on how strict they are about their dietary laws. Some don't even shop at regular supermarkets - only specialty "kosher" shops. But, for the most part, even the strict ones eat at restaurants - but they usually have fish or a vegetarian meal. I have never known a strictly kosher jewish american to eat at KFC or any other fast food restaurant. But most jewish americans aren't that strict :o)

My family is a jewish-american family. We're consevative, though, not Hasidic. It depends on wheter or not the family keeps kosher. If they do, they will not eat fast food, and will only eat in kosher restaurants. My family does not keep kosher, so we eat like everybody else. To answer your bagel question, NO. It's not practical. We eat cereals, pop tarts, waffles, pancakes, and much more. Hope I helped!

My old boss was jewish. He would eat anything. He loved the mini burgers at Denny's most often. For breakfast if we brought in bagels he had to eat them with butter, not cream cheese.
He would do Mexican and Italian too.

it depends on their judaism..if they keep Kosher they do not mix meat and dairy and do not animals with cloven hooves unless they chew thei cud. Many TYPICAL american jews do not keep kosher and eat they same stuff any other PERSON in this country eats.. they eat Mexican, Itallian, Greek, Bagles, Doughnuts, Isreali food and more..

Chicken. Lots and lots of chicken. Bagels are quite popular but it would be impractical to eat them every day unless you live in New York City.
