It has large palm leaves that grow verticlly. It reminds me of a Chinese fan! It does not look like it has a trunk but it may!! Mainly it looks like a big Chinese fan opened up? I saw it on the island of Oahu!! Thanks for any help!!

Palmetto Bush? It has leaves similar to a Sage Palm tree (Fan like) but it doesn't have a stem or trunk. It has a root ball which is usually hidden by the leaves. These are extremely hard to eradicate once established.
Search ebay for "Palmetto bush" there are several listings with pictures so you can see if this is what your talking about.
