My rent will increase if i make 1.4 times more than $32, 500 a year. How do i figure out how much more i am allowed to earn within a year? Whats the formula?

The first person is wrong...if you truly want 1.4 times more.

There is a big difference.

1.4 times more is 140% more....

1.4 percent more is .014 times more.


So, you will take $32,500 x 1.4 = $45,500

Not an extra $455.

Pretty easy. Multiply 32,500 by 1.4. Use a calculator if needed.

you would just multiply 32500 by 1.4%

32500 x .014 = $455
you are allowed to make $455 more making a total of $32955
