Well, the guy who wrote it is probably an American and almost all Americans don't like soccer, think all you have to do is kick the ball into a goal, and they think baseball is a lot more complicated. Like, making contact with a ball, run, and in the field, catch, and throw. WOW, TOUGH TO DO. Soccer you have to be aware at all times, you run for 90 minutes and not just sit the bench until your time is up to hit and run, you have to be skilled at every position, not just one. Well, it would take me about an hour to come up with everything wrong with baseball and everything that is tough about soccer so I will stop now.

He is taking a dig at us Europeans and our governments because the sport is more popular here than it is in the US. Though what the governments of Europe have to do with the popularity of football here, I fail to understand.
