bicentennial means 200 years.

Every 2ND hundred anniversary for something...example 1976 was the U.S. bicentennial usually for a anniversary like this instead of recognizing the event on a single day, it is recognized for the entire year

Depends The US printed a bicentennial quarter to commemorate the occasion, and I'm sure there was much other stuff but i wasn't around for 2 more years back then.

It can be celebrated today assuming that something is having its 200 year anniversary, and bicentennial does not refer to the USA alone as some of the other posters seem to think, however the USA was the last noticiable thing that many americans can remember to celebrate a bicentennial event...including myself

The USA Bicentennial was in 1976. I remember it, it was a great celebration. You can only celebrate it once though. The year of the bicentennial, which means 200 years after the original event. For any event in any nation, the bicentennial comes 200 years after whatever day you are celebrating. Any bicentennials this year would commemorate events which happened in 1807.

The Bicentennial of the US was in 1976 - it was 200 years after the US became a country. Centennial is 100 years, bicentennial is 200 years: sesquicentennial is 150 years. So no, the bicentennial would not be celebrated anymore, as it happened in 1976.

The bicentennial was celebrated in 1976 in memory or 200 years since the US being established in 1776. No, 200 year mark only comes once. The next will be the tricentennial in the year 2076. Otherwise, we just celebrate the 4th of July yearly.

no because bicentennial means 200 years, and its celebrated for the 200th anniversary of the declaration of independence, 1776-1976. so it will be a tricentennial in the year 2076 and u would naturally be patriotic to celebrate it
