I think it is great because they play the game with great fundimentals. Do you think the wave will continue?

Baseball is the great American pasttime (though I enjoy it quite fine in Canada), but since 1920 and Babe Ruth, American baseball has been about power. GMs are starting to see new theories arise, while sabermetricians show new ways to show who's producing and not, the fans will enjoy the longball.

Japanese baseball is not about the longball, and they showed it last spring, in the World Baseball Classic, where the U.S. power-happy offense lost to fundamental play.

I don't think the fans' opinions will change anytime soon, but adding eastern influence in the game will slowly change the face of the game, and show us a new side, one a lot of us forgot.

I'd take a .380 OBP who can run and field over a 36 HR hitter anyday.

I'm all for it. They improve the quality of play, and bring attention to the sport. They've proven they can compete at the highest level, and I expect the wave to grow until it's no longer a novelty.
