how do celebrities still make money. you think about it. Movies, music, and tv shows can be downloaded for free from the internet. So how do people still make money if everything is being available for free on the internet.

i didn't say i steal music and movies i was just asking because technology has grown so much where people actually do get music and movies for free.But this question is mainly aimed towards musicians.

Celebrities of course make money on acting, but the rule is that most celebrities build a brand around their name, and use it to sell things. Take J-Lo for instance. She sells clothing, perfume, and Food (she owns a restaurant) using her name. She also does endorsements for shampoo in Japan. She might make a few million from doing movies, but most of her money comes from her side businesses, and endorsements.
Also, although movies can be downloaded for free over the internet the fact is that most people don't. It's still possible for movie studios to make money on motion picture releases, although revenues are affected adversely by people stealing copies of their movies.

Just because its available for free on the internet doesn't mean all people will stop buying the DVD's , CD's, seasons of tv shows etc. I would definately say there has been a drop in sales over the years though. Everytime a movie is shown on TV they get royalties/residuals. There are also products that go along with different projects like clothing. But its obvious some people have come upon hard times (Dustin Diamond "Screech" on Saved By The Bell) but I doubt that isn't because of a drop in sales! lol

Well, lets see. Hhmmm. Movie stars, like Brad Pitt, etc, get PAID to make films. TV actors get PAID to do their programs. Do you see the pattern here? What you pay to go the movie theater, to your cable company, to Netflix, whatever, is NOT where the celebrities make their money.

Actors get payed to make the movie,,,By the prodution company...
Singer get pay to make Cd's..., Again By the production Company..
Tv Stars get Payed the same way,,only the company gets money back from the advetisements, basicly pop up ads on down load sights work the same way. So everyone makes moneys. except us.............

They have ways (commercials, ads, movie theaters, un-downloadable merchandise, concerts, clothes lines...etc) . They make too much money. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. Thats exactly why im completely pro-piracy.

I don't no I guess its all the tabloid magz. they sue (HA-HA) and selling pictures of their kids to the magazines they keep suing
what sites do you get to download FREE movies &music cause I havent come across any?
