so... this guy found out that i belly dance, a.k.a. middle eastern dancing. First, he was all like, "you do that?" and he would look away and smile. Its been a week, and every day he looks at me smiles, and says, "i just can't picture you doing that!" then he looks away and just stares into the distance and faintly smiles. IS HE PICTURING ME DOING THIS DURING THOSE SILENT TIMES??? also... i asked him why he could not see me doing this and he was all like, "because ur not slutty." but he won't drop it... every day he brings it up!

i asked this q in here because no one ever answer's my q in single and dating section!!! i get good answers here... so THANKS!

I think many people misunderstand what belly dancing is. They think that it's a sexual dance, something girls do in order to turn guys on. Of course we both know that this isn't true. I want to take belly dance classes when I go to college but if I told some people this, they'd mistake belly dancing with exotic dancing and think that I want to be a stripper or something. These people don't realize that belly dancing is just as acceptable as other dances. I think the guy you are talking about is in shock and is probably trying to picture you doing it. It is kinda gross/perverted for him to keep thinking about it and mentioning it to you.Tell him that you don't appreciate his remarks and you don't see anything wrong with what you are doing. Would he be shocked if you told him you salsa? I don't think so. Belly dancing is a beautiful form of artistic expression and should not be compared to the crude sexual actions he's imagining.

First of all belly dancing isnt slutty. Belly dancing is an extremely sensual but super skillfull form of dance. No other dancers in teh world have teh body control or midsection control that belly dancers have. My parents are from lebanon and i watch belly dancing with my mom every week and we actually critique the belly dancers lol. I have actually become very good at spotting good belly dancing. Tell your guy friend belly dancing has been here for thousands of years and has never been looked at as slutty in any culture
