Hi! I have irregular periods, too! If you don't want to spend the money on ovulation detectors, a sure way to tell you are ovulating is by paying close attention to mid-cycle. Sorry to be graphic, but sometime after your period stops, usually 4 to 10 days after, you may notice a stringy clear discharge when wiping after urinating. This ususlly lasts for about 5 days. Sometimes it is heavy and sometimes it isn't, so pay close attention. These discharge days are when you are most likely to ovulate. This is the time to have lots of sex. If you want a for sure pregnancy, try elevating your hips with a couple pillows for about half an hour after sex. And don't forget to have fun while you are trying! Hope this helps!!

With an irregular cycle, it's very hard to tell when you're ovulating, or approching ovulation, or if you're ovulating at all. In order to get pregnant you need to have sex around the time of ovulation, but without charting your cycles or monitoring fertility in some other way you may not know when that is. I suggest charting your cycles for a few months to know what signs to look for that indicate ovulation for you (you can find out more about charting from the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility or the website fertilityfriend.com) and combining that with ovulation predictor kits (available at most drugstores with the pregnancy tests) to more accurately pinpoint your ovulation. If you find, after a few months that you're not ovulating, you need to see your health care provider to find out why, and create a treatment plan.

Go to your OB/GYN for a good examination. When you are checked out, buy an ovulation kit. Because your period is always changing, you do need it. Also you can try taking your temperature before having sex to see if the temperature rises a this is an indication of ovulation. I always got my period irregularly and I was able to conceive quickly so don't worry about that. Best of Luck to You.

The best way for you know know about your cycle is to chart your fertility signs. Your chart can tell you when you are fertile, when you are not, when you are ovulating, when to expect your next period, and when to suspect pregnancy. Your chart can also tell you if there are issues delaying conception or causing difficulty w/ carrying a pregnancy and if there are serious issues which need a doc's attention.
Some good sources for charting your fertility signs: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). The books Taking Charge of Your Fertility (associated w/ the the ovusoft website and software), The Art of Natural Family Planning, and Garden of Fertility

try using ovulation kits. You may want to buy 2 boxes- at least for your first month. You'll find out when you are ovulating . You can buy them at Walmart by the pregnancy tests. Good Luck!

Yeah, get some ovulation predictor kits, and test all of time...starting about 12 days after your period starts. Then you should find out when you are ovulating.
