After Bush inherited a country that had been weakened by eight years of declining moral standards, a military used for social experimentation with alternative lifestyles than for defending and protecting our shores, and a previous administration too concerned with coddling tyrants than fighting terrorism, and corporations and the top earners burdened by excessive taxes used to funnel money to lazy and unproductive entitlement recipients, it was no surprise that our country was unprepared for the worst terrorist atrocity in U.S. history on September 11, 2001.

Bush was fully warned before 9-11 but did nothing.

Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar are still alive and free.

OBL admitted he expected the hijackers would have only 20 minutes before US air defenses thwarted the attackers and that at best, only one of the 4 hijacked planes would hit its mark. Instead, Bush gave them over 2 and a half hours and 3 of 4 airliners hit their targets.

The Bush administration is the most corrupt and immoral in US history.

Democrats didn't and don't endaanger America. Your facts are wrong in at least these respects:

1) Changing the prepareness of the Army takes many, many years, unless a draft is institued. Any objective military expert wil tell you this. The Afghanistan war was fought using Clinton's army, with weapns funded by the Carter Adminsitration (you may be too young to remember the flak Carter took for increasing the funding for the B-2 and cruise missile development, but I'm not)

2)In Afghanistan, we were fighting the Taliban, which was funded by the Reagan administration to counter the Russians.

3) in an era of obscene corporate profits (Halliburton, the oil companies) an increasing gap in prosperity between the middle class and the upper class, and corporate CEOs who make enormous salaries while their corporations return little or no profit for their stockholders (with the above noted exceptions) how can oyou object to programs that contribute to the overall well being of the country?

4)GWB had the info in early August that the attack was imminent, and had one of the terrorist in custody, and failed to do anything.

So this question is rhetorical, and sadly mis-informed.

It is definitely true that Clinton (and his administration) did his/their very best to dismantle the US Military during his Presidency, and yes, it was horrible to see the way he DISRESPECTED the Honorable Servicemember ...

Unfortunately, the currently Seated Congress did NOT learn the lessons of previous Democratically Controlled Congresses in their mis-management and micro-management of our national defense ... (which includes Vietnam Conflict -- it was NEVER a declared war).

Why is this being done? Because the ones who are sitting in Congress feel that they can ....

It's not just democrats. It's partisan politics and corruption that are ruining America.

Years ago, Pope John Paul II said "I come as one asking you to fulfill your noble destiny of service to the world."

What we lost under Clinton was our unique sense of noble destiny. Our pride has been under attack for years. Not a puffed up, conceited kind of pride....but our sense of purpose and value to the planet.
