i was wondering when are diamond pythons, male and female, old enough to mate? How old do they have to be? does length of the snake matter?

I'd suspect at least 3-4 years old and of a decent, healthy (but not obese!) weight for both. I've heard diamond pythons are the hardest of the carpet pythons to breed. I have a JCP and I wouldn't breed her as she doesn't have a great temperament.

it's not so much the age but the size.
minimum lengths for breeding male:98cm
and a female:113cm
so as long as its as long (or longer) then ur sweet.
of course ur diamond has to be happy n healthy to breed.
Good luck with it all!
