I feel your pain. I'm sorry. First, communicate your feelings. It's not easy, but it's the best thing to do. Tell her, "My feelings have been hurt lately because you seem to be pushing me away and I don't know why. Did we have a misunderstanding?" Depending on her personality and upbringing, she may (or may not) be embarrassed and resent being put on the spot, but that wouldn't be your problem. You're doing the right thing (and mature thing) by approaching her with concern and compassion. She may tell you that you hurt her feelings a while back, or that she heard something about you. You may then clear up the misunderstanding together and everything will be fine.

But if she's resentful about you confronting her, and doesn't want to share what she's feeling, the best thing to do (even though it will be painful) is back away and give her time to reevaluate the friendship.

Hang out with other friends. Smile gently and compassionately when you see her in passing. If people ask, "What happened with you and Sue? Why aren't you hanging out with her?" Say, "Oh, we're just going through some personal things. Nothing I would want to talk about without her here. I miss hanging out with her though. But we'll work it out."

Giving her time to think is the best way to get her to come around and see the light.

Don't worry, it'll only hurt for a little while, then everything will be okay soon.

best friends don't come a dime a dozen so you should really think about it tossing her away and try talking to her expressing how you feel about her attitude toward you and after you fix things with your friend try having a conversation with your mother because it may come a day when you'll really need her so break the tension now start with something small and build from there.
