I don't know.
I've never been violated at least in the yahoo sense ;-)
Perhaps that's because I've read the community guidelines, and follow them. I will admit that it's sometimes not easy. You have to realize that nobody on Yahoo has time to monitor these boards, so in order to receive a violation, someone must report you. And I suspect this is an automated process, so unless you object, no human is involved. I have seen answers designed to skirt automated readers by leaving spaces in offensive words, or replacing letters with symbols.
I've personally reported one questioner for using a thinly veiled racial epithet, and that's the only one.
I suggest that if you are getting repeated violations, you review your questions and answers vis-a-vis the Community guidelines and do the following:
1) First and foremost, answer the question, right up front. Use yes, no, or I don't know. That will automatically satisfy the requirement that you answered the question.
2)Ask a real question, don't make a speech and follow it with a question mark. Don't ask and answer your own question in the same sentence. Instead, ask the question and afterwards state your opinion.
3)refrain from directly attacking another community member by screen name. Same goes for generalized classes of people, although I've seen an awful lot of that, and people seem to get away with it.
4)don't use religious or ethnic slurs.
5)Don't use rhetorical questions. not only do they upset people, they make you look very dumb and nobody is fooled by them.
6)remember that anyone can enter these discussions. Ask yourself if you would want your kids or your mom to read what you have written.
If you feel you have been wrongly violated, and you are willing to spend the time, object. I have read that there is a process for this. I don't know what that process is, maybe someone could post that process here if they know what it is. A link would be good.
First and foremost, realize that this is a privately operated free service. You do not, therefore, have the right to free speech. It is possible to have a discussion (debate, argument) without resorting to name calling and insults. If you feel strongly that someone is absolutely, positively stupid, be so elegant in your response that the stupid person won't know it, but everybody else will ;-)
And finally be cognizant of that fact that nobody is always right, or always wrong. After all, Moussolini made the trains run on time, and Hitler encouraged the development of the Volkwagon.

Talk about terrorism, it's the internet Gestapo, the wondering when and if the hammer is going to fall and you will lose your account. To some it doesn't matter but to others it would be horrible. What if you lost the account you had for years on yahoo because some jerk targets you and violates you under several identities? We all know they are here. I protest almost all of my violations, every once in a while I guess I actually probably deserved the violation. I try to avoid the people where I seem to pick up the most violations, their ignorance is not worth the aggravation of the violation. If you can't play with the adults without violation people, find a different forum please.

I had quite a few and didn't get suspended. Then one time I was accused of personally attacking another participant. That's when I got suspended. If you are worried about losing your other Yahoo accounts, just make an I.D. just for YA. If you get suspended, you won't lose any valuable e-mails. Then all you have to do is make another I.D. for YA and life goes on.

there is not any set quantity for a suspension. what proportion it takes can rely upon the frequency and severity of the violations themselves. i've got seen human beings recover from a hundred vios until now getting suspended and a few human beings get suspended after purely a handful of vios.

No one knows the answer to this question. Even the people whose accounts have been suspended.
Do you have a lot of them? You can reply and if they are warrantless, Yahoo sometimes gives points back. Sometimes not. Or you can post on the forum. If someone is targeting you with multiple warrantless violations, you can tell Yahoo, and eventually, they can get it to stop.
It also depends on the type of violations, I believe. I think you can get many "chatting" and "not a question or answer." I have.
