It's very low from what I remember. I have a masters degree in education, and they wanted to start me out at like ten bucks an hour. I laughed, and ended the interview then and there. It could be different where you live.

It is $12.50, but you might want to go observe before you apply. I got the job, am a retired elem teacher, but I don't want to give out answers so the parents will continue to pay $40 an hour, which I think is outrageous. I think Sylvan is out for profit more than education. They are not bad, but I found them giving too many answers to make sure the child got enough done to please the parents.

My Best Friend went there and she said all the kids were rude and dont have manners even if they pay very good dont take the bad jobs there if you are serious about it go to their website

I was SHOCKED when I discovered that they require certified teachers and only pay us $9.00 an nhour there!!! AND they don't pay for training!!!
