A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.
After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.
Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.
I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.
I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.
If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.
I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.
Love and blessings
Your brother

Happiness means different things to different people... for some it may be money for others it may be love... this question has many different levels... above all else however, I believe that true happiness is based on how happy you are with yourself and your self-worth. Do you do things that make you happy simply for yourself? I'm a sucker for love and happy endings and I'm smack dab in the middle of my own love story, but through other issues, I'll spare all the details, I've found as long as I do things to make me happy, everyone around me is happy, everyone around me is drawn to me like a moth to a flame, this is how you find your "love", be happy with where you are in life, and who you are, and all your strive to become, and she will come, before you can blink and eye, love along with happiness will be yours!!! Good luck in everything.

Happiness to me is that moment every morning when I get to wake up and see the face of the man that I love. Everyday, I get to share in this beautiful life I share with him. We may not have many material possessions but what we do have is a true, honest and loving relationship. We both believe that we do not have to have a ton of possessions to enjoy life. We take joy in the simple pleasure of a good cartoon and laugh. We enjoy nature and partake of it often. My happiness is the love.

I agree with you 100% that happiness is to be loved and to love because this feeling make me more happy with myself now. It is good to known that someone care about you.
I also agree with Dotr. It is true that "you can't depend on another person for your own happiness!!" because happiness come from yourself but if you can't find it by yourself, I think it is a good idea to find from someone else. Let them help you to find your own happiness.

Happiness to me is to end life knowing you accomplished something. I would rather look back on my life in my last moments on earth, knowing the my life was a great one, then only remembering one happy part of my life.

Happiness is a state of mind. To be happy you must first like yourself. Only when you are happy with yourself can you make someone else happy.

a lot of things could cause happiness, money, sex, love, God, even guns... but i'm not sure if any one thing could be pure happiness. and even chocolate could not be pure happiness. so what is happiness?? happiness is usually a combination of good feelings, relief, content, suprise, even fear can inflict joy. love will often get you all of these things, and therfore happiness. go ahead and find your love, and i'm sure she will be just as happy as you when you find her.
