I have a neice who since last year has ran away at least 8 different times. The First and second time she stayed away a weekend the third time one week the second time 2 weeks. She has been in a hospital. Been taking to Juvenile custody. She did good for awhile and then went to stay with my mom now she has run away again. We have tried authorities... It is a real big joke here to try and get anyone to help. We have tried everything under the sun... Is there a website for uploading pictures of runaways?? We live in the Kansas city area... Help we need some advice....

Please no sick or rude responses.. This is for real..

We have sat down and talked with her... she has seen the worst side.. She has been locked in to a adolescent hospital for evaluation.. She hated the whole 2 weeks . We have talked until we are blue in the face.. We have taken money away from her valuables..

We had no choice but to admit her in a hospital. She was abusing drugs.. We love her very much.. Every choice we had to make was very very hard.. She is manulative. She steals. She is not being abused, mentally or physically. I have sat down and talked with her and told her that she is hurting us all. But more importantly hurting herself.. Now she will Flunk Junior year and have to do this whole year all over again. None of these suggestions are helping us.. Yes we have considered bootcamps.. but when her mom called she was looking at almost 25000.00. that is a lot of money to come up with.. Her dad was in her life for a minute but is gone.. He doesn't pay child support.

My sister has been going through the same thing. She is 14. I cant tell you if we are going to make her be good but for now she is ok. She has ran away gone to the hospital many times and was dating a guy that is 18! And yes she is now pregnant and he ran away fast after that. How old is your niece? The hospital told us my sister is a manipulater. I say she is a professional liar. She will tell anyone anything to get her way. Maybe the niece is trying to get her way???

Well there's a reason that she ran away...and it's most likely because she is abused or depressed.
Instead of taking away her privilages and LOCKING HER UP (what were you thinking?) and all that other stuff...sit her down and talk to her face to face!

i know you prolly don't want to hear this...but sometimes if you really love somebody you gotta let them go.

Kids dont run away just for chuckles. She probably is running away, because she is being abused, or she is depressed, or something or the other. Whatever it is, she needs a new living situation cause obviously living wih her mother isnt working for her.

the more you push, the more she will resist. show more love, less dicipline and maybe she wont need a reason to run away! right now, she doesnt feel like your child, she feels like your science project. especially with the whole hospitalization for her rebellion. just dont push so hard!
