for the first time in history a large number of intelligent yet foolish people succumbed to a ridiculous conspiracy theory simply because they were afraid to confront the reality of the world around them.. and instead chose the world of a fat douche bag from Michigan with a ego almost as large as his *** and an obvious bias against republicans and the bush administration
but I'm no expert

Documentary? A documentary is not fiction. Fahrenheit 9/11 is fiction and cannot be classified as a documentary by honest people. Real life is really that simple. Truth is truth and a lie is a lie. Fahrenheit 9/11 is fiction as told by liars. Now you know the truth or at least you have read the truth.

It doesn't really, except in the hope of the filmmaker that the film might lead to the development of a social movement (the 9/11 truth movement, e.g.)

I don't think that it is related to any movement at all, but it does contribute to the growing gap between rich and poor. Michael Moore's main goal was to make money by capitalizing on the hatred of Bush. While he did not sway the election as he had hoped, he did accomplish his ultimate goal; making millions. For those people who were foolish enough to spend money on seeing the movie in theaters, and buying the DVD, they were the losers, while Moore was the winner, becoming richer.
Gee, ya give someone a star, they give ya a thumbs down. I thought it was a pretty honest answer. My bad!

How gullible/susceptible people are to the thougths of others.
Religion has been doing it for years. Same thing with politics.
