market meaning for milk? I do not know of any 4-H fairs that sell goats for meat.
How to get them ready for show all depends on the breed of goat. Some they like shaggy, others clipped very short. To wow the judges, you need a goat with good confirmation and good milk production (if in the milk section). The goat also must lead nicely and have a calm manner.
Feeding- just a high quality goat pellets and supplements mixed with some grazing time is good enough.

Wethers do no longer stink. the reason male goats stink is because their hormones (testosterone) tells their brains that the ladies love a stinky guy, so that they pee on themselves, and that is what makes the lads stink. Wethers were castrated, so no testosterone to reason complications. Does and wethers have their reward. A wether will be bought on the top of the challenge, to earn some funds to purchase youngster for next year (or pay your dad and mom decrease back for feeding him). A breeding doe will be bred, and then you will be able to have your own youthful ones to reinforce up, and also you may enhance your herd. although, you'll get a doe youngster that you does no longer opt for to have bred, and also you should use her as a market animal besides. Your most suitable guess will be to communicate over with 4H-ers, and 4H challenge leaders already contained in the challenge, and they're going to gladly help you.
