I assume you mean past the screen. If you clean the lint trap each time you use the washer, it should not be a problem. If lint gets stuck to the fork area and blocks the exhaust, it will ruin the dryer, but shouldn't cause a fire, because there is too much moisture in the air being exhausted for it to catch fire.

Yes it is a fire hazard. Just take the back off the dryer part and put your hand down in the whole and get your fork out. While you are at it try to get the excess lint out just to make sure there's no hazard of any kind. It's not hard to do. If you still have problems please just send me an email and I'll guide you through it again step by step.

there's a panel below the dryer door that comes off - try a pushing in a putty knife or the like into the seam to launch the spring catches, some inches from backside left and backside good. This exposes the lint seize ducting, held alongside with purely some screws. (until now dismantling, unplug the dryer, as there is oftentimes a small thermal fuse on the assembly which you do not desire to short out by potential of bumping into it.) Take the seize assembly aside, retrieve the knife (probably from below), sparkling each and every thing while you're there, and reassemble.
