Has anyone read the Arabian Nights? In this I mean Richard F. Burton's version. If you've read his and the other version/s, which do you prefer? Thanks.

I'm reading "The Arabian Nights", a hardcover translated by Husain Haddawy published by Alfred A. Knopf in the Everyman's Library series. I prefer this version to the one by Sir Richard Burton because this one has been meant for contemporary readers, not for Victorian ones who enjoyed the book as one of the classics, thus we can see it's not quite easy to understand classic words, sentences and literary style, etc. or follow the episodes. I recommend the one by Professor Haddawy, each nightly story as told to the King has been divided into First Night, Second Night, Third Night and so on but you'd find none in the Burton version.

never read arabian nights. the closest to that i've gotten is a book called inkheart. it's about a guy who has such an enchanting voice that when he reads, characters come out of the books. it's really sweet. anyway, he is reading from that and a little thief boy comes out and becomes a main character in the inkheart trilogy.
