When given in that format, the first set of numbers is overall wins - overall losses. Following in that example is conference record given as conference wins-conference losses with a designation of which of the 31 conferences the team is in. Also given sometimes is the home, road, or neutral site record of the team (depending on where the game is being played). As with the other two, the general format is wins-losses. Thus, if the team above was playing its next game on the road, it could read as (26-3, 15-2 Pac-10, 11-2 road).

The team's overall record is 26-3. Their record in their conference (Pac-10) is 15-2. Teams usually play 10-12 games before conference play begins.
