My doctor just prescribed my Zovia for birth control, today is the 2nd of March, I haven't started it yet. My period should show up around March 15. I am going out of town April 13-22 and I don't want to have my period during my vacation. If I start my pills now, while I am not on my period, will that change the start date so that I would not be on my period during the week I am out of town?

You should ask your doctor. I can tell you what I think, but there is no guarantee that it is accurate!
If you are already on birth control, you should be able to just do a Sunday start, ie pick a Sunday and start the pill pack. However, if you are just starting birth control, you should definitely use a back-up form of birth control if you choose not to start your pill the Sunday after you start your period (you should use a back up for the first week no matter when you start, actually).
Also, spotting is common when you start birth control, so there is no guarantee that your vacation will be worry-free.

I've talked to some women that take just the hormone pills to help them thru til they come back from vacation and such so that they don't have a period while on their trip. I take the hormone pills only for medical reasons.

Check with your dr to see if it's safe for you to try doing this.
