It could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. When the superpowers square off against each other in two camps, then come back and we'll talk apacolpse.
Until then, just think regional conflicts, wars between rump states, proxy wars and brinksmanship. If you recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, a coalition of Arab States (Egypt, Syria and Jordan) were soundly defeated by the Israelis. That was a worse situation than the current conflict and it didn't raise a blip on the world war radar (not that it didn't have the potential to spark a global war).
The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.
Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask when is the apacolypse, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.
Our biggest risk is an accidental launch of nukes by one of the nuclear powers.

Mankind will exterminate themselves. We KNOW that we must slow down the destruction of the forests as well as all the greenhouse gases are being circulated throughout the world. We are pumping the very fuel that the earth needs to continue it's existence and using it to fuel other contraptions to further damage the earth. Do we not understand that oil is in the cracks and deposits in the ground for a reason? Everything evolves. There is a reason for all that oil to be below the surface. Just like we have fluid in our joints to help the fluidity of our movements, so is oil needed by the Earth to help in its tectonic movements.
Eventually, we will kill off all the animals along with all the sea life and vegetation that will leave us with nothing. Once that happens, all there will be is grey skies and bones on the ground.

--Humanity will not come to an end--this is God's promise & Jesus is in full agreement::
(Psalm 37:10-11) “10Â And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11Â But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.”.............28Â For Jehovah is a lover of justice,
And he will NOT LEAVE his loyal ones. To time indefinite they will certainly be guarded; But as for the offspring of the wicked ones, they will indeed be cut off.29Â The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside FOREVER upon it.
Jesus words:
(Matthew 5:5) “5Â “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.”
--Your choice , who will you believe, man who can not control --, wars, economics, wickedness, religion, politics, and every other man made element that is out of control or guess who?---God.

The Bible says destroyed by Fire.
Scientists say that the Sun will get old. As the Sun ages it will expand in size and consume Mercury, Venus, and Earth. Then the Sun will collapse. Sounds the same doesn't it???

While we very well might kill ourselves off, I'd like to think we'll do better than that. Mind you, we might need a strong common enemy before we wake up and notice we're all the same and need to cooperate, but I'm sure when Kang and Kodos come to subjugate us, we'll come together and attack them with a nail embedded 2X4. Until then, Simpsons fans, fight and bicker and try to one-up your neighbours.
Peace

i think it will be a mixture of everything --- plagues, nuclear/holy war, all the "isms" out there. humans will be the end of humans. on top of that, the planet is pretty much doomed because of all the materialism and ignorance of everyone environmentally.

Mankind will soon outsmart itself. Science is advancing far faster than we are capable of regulating it, ... eventually greed will ensure that someone pushes too hard or too far and humanity will be erradicated by his own hand.

I believe we will destroy ourselves through hatred and war. We will also create technology that we will never be able to control, and that is something that will do us in, also.
