Hmmm Logitech doesn't list any Linux drivers for that cam

Have you tried just plugging it in to the USB port?

Beyond that you probably need to read the documentation, and possibly install one or more packages, which, you may wish to try some User Forums and Local Support groups (no this is not a joke). Try the Support link via the Kubuntu Web site at kubuntu.org

Make sure you have Service Pack 2 on your Windows XP.

It is the minumum requirement for installing Quickcam Pro 5000 to your computer.

The rest should be the driver issues. You want to make sure that you have the computer acknowledges and official claims that this device is install. I have trouble with the software that kind of buggy but manages to do without it.
