How can I do something with my voice to get it reconized?

I love to sing...and I'm really good, (and no I don't mean to sound conceited!) So how do I even get started. I am not someone with a lot of money...I have 2 kids! So whats the trick...does anyone know. OH AND don't you have to have money to hire an agent!!

Ok I am sorry but I didn't specify myself correctly. I already sing in karaoke bars...I enter contests all the time and I have won quite a few. What I want to know is How can I do something with my voice to get recognized on ...like a famous level! How do I even get started. Don't agents cost money, I know a lot of people have them!

I have thought about trying out for american idol...but one of my friends has went...and she can sing REALLY good. The first audition you go to is when you sing for the judges at the booths...and then you have to get picked by them to see Randy Paula and Simon...and my friend said that when she went to that first audition that they didn't pick anyone who could sing good... they only picked people who were dressed up and acting stupid, because they wanted those people for TV entertainment. So I am kind of afraid that it would be a waste of my time!

First, I'd try volunteering to sing to children at shelters or childrens hospitals and such during Christmas or other occasions. From there someone may like your voice and want to see you perform at other local functions and then from there who knows where this may lead to. Good luck!

Try making a demo. Send it to a couple of record companies. And wait for a response. Go to some local restraunts and sing. Get your name out there. Good luck!

Hun, your going to have to wait until next season, but wherever American Idol is playing next season, is when you need to start saving your "Confederate Money" to fly to wherever they will be auditioning everyone, and I would get there early, and that way you can get a number, to show them how well you sing, and go from there! That's the only thing I can think of that's free, except for your hotel and plane flight.. So, if your underage, for a job, start doing babysitting jobs, car washes, making homemade cookies, or homemade playdough, to sell door to door, for a $1.00 a peice, with a sign saying that your trying to raise money to fly to next season's "American Idol" and people might even pitch in an extra $20.00 if you make a sign, to show them when you sell the playdough or the cookies.. The playdough recipe is on the homemadecrafts.com site, and just go from there!! My kids wanted to earn enough money one year when they were small and they already had "BigBird" molds' and "Cookie Monster" molds, and we made Homemade playdough with cool aid in it, and cream of tartar, and it smelled and looked so appealing we had back orders for them!! The kids made like $50.00 that year just on these playdough molds!! All of our neighbors who had kids just loved them so much, they wanted more, and then one year at Christmas time, we made "Homemade Fudge" and wrapped peices up in foil, with red and green ribbon on them, and put them on a platter to sell for $1.00 a peice, and the kids made enough to buy eachother gifts, plus enough to buy me, & their grandma a gift!! And it made them feel good about theirselves.. There's lots of ways you can raise money, honey, if you dont have a job!!! You just have to be creative, with your thoughts, you know.. Okay, I have the playdough recipe here it is: Okay, go and buy some cream of tartar in the spice section, and some cool aid, and some flour... Here's the measurement's and you can double it, if you so desire, for more, to sell: 1 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 cup of hot water
A pkg. of whatever color cool aid of your choice.. You can also, take and mix everything but the cool aid, and place them into seperate bowls, and then add the hot water in each bowl, then the different cool aided colors, per bowl.. And go and borrow your friends kids, molds, or go to a store that sells different types of molds.. For even grown ups... Back to the recipe: in a non -stick bowl mix the dry ingredients, and than add the water, and cool aid.. and kneed it with your hands until nice and smooth.. Flatten out with a rolling pin, or a level glass of some sort, and cut out your shapes, or just place some into the molds.. And then cut off any left over playdough, from around the molds , back into the bowls, so you dont waste any of it.. And there you have it!!! Good Luck to you hun!! And next season, they always advertise when, and where American Idol will be playing next, in which town.. And hopefully by then you'll have the money raised-up for your stay there, and for your flight there!! Good luck to you, hun!! The only other thing I could suggest to you is to sing for God in a church of your choice, He is the one, who blessed you with your singing voice, the least you can do, is give back a little to Him of what He blessed you with and tell God your heart's desires, and He just may guide your steps into the right direction, for "Success" because God is so Good that way, hun!!
