Yes. the first thing you need to think about is if both the top number (numerator) and the bottom number (denominator) are even numbers. If they are, and in this case 26 and 50 are even numbers, then you know the fraction can be reduced. Once you know it can be, the next step is to actually reduce it. 26 can be divided by 2. 50 can also be divided by 2. Since both the top number and bottom number are being divided by the same number (2), the value of the fraction remains the same even after you change the digits in the fraction. By this I mean, 26/50 is the same as saying 13/25. Note: 26 divided by 2 equals 13, which is the same number as the top number in the second fraction (the second fraction is 13/25). 50 divided by 2 equals 25, which is the same number as the bottom number of the second fraction (13/25). Therefore, (26/50)= (13/25). 13/25 is the reduced fraction of 26/50. Both fractions have equal value. That is, if we were to take simplier fractions such as 2/4 and divide both the top and bottom by 2, we'd end up with 1/2. Both 2/4 and 1/2 have the same value. They are both equal to one half. Get it? Here's another example to help you out. 18/20. Can it be reduced? Well, let's walk it through. As earlier, the first step is to see if both the top and bottom numbers are even. Once again, in this case, they are even. Therefore, both the top and bottom can be divided by 2. If we do so, we end up with 9/10. 18 divided by 2 equals 9. 20 divided by 2 equals 10. Therefore, (18/20)= (18 divided by 2)/(20 divided by 2)=(9/10).
Let's do one more example. How about 18/27. Once again, find out if both numbers are even. In this case, the bottom number isn't even. But we can still reduce the fraction. How? Well, we need to find a number that both the top and bottom numbers can be divided by. In this case, both the top and bottom numbers can be divided by 3 or 9. Let's try dividing both the top and bottom numbers by 3 first. (18/27)=(18 divided by 3)/(27 divided by 3)=(6/9). Therefore, 18/27 is equal to 6/9. However, we can still reduce this fraction even further. Look closely. Both 6 (the top number) and 9 (the bottom number) can be divided by 3 again. Let's do that. (6/9)=(6 divided by 3)/(9 divided by 3)= (2/3). Therefore, 6/9 is equal to 2/3. Which means that 18/27 is equal to 6/9 which is equal to 2/3. This means that 18/27 is equal to 2/3.
Now let's take that same problem (18/27) but this time divide both the top (18) and bottom (27) numbers by 9 instead of 3. (18/27)=(18 divided by 9)/(27 divided by 9)=(2/3). 18/27 is equal to 2/3. Look! Both ways of solving the problem get the same answer! That must mean it's correct!

Yes, first find a number that both numbers can be divided by. Since both numbers are even they can be divided by 2.

26 / 2 = 13
50 / 2 = 25

Now you have 13 and 25, and both are prime numbers, and therefore cannot be reduced any further.
So your answer is

13/25.

Anytime you have 2 even numbers, you can reduce by divoding each by 2. In this case, that is the only option. Divide each by 2 and you get 13/25.
